ONE WAY ONLY

Here you are, going out of your way to make this one person happy. You’re getting into trouble and losing sleep, but it doesn’t matter as long as that person is happy. You take the time to notice the little things. You drop everything and come to the rescue when that person needs you. Your happiness spawns off of that person’s happiness, and soon enough, you’re starting to build your whole world around this one person. Every time that person gets upset, you feel bad because there’s a chance that it’s your fault. Every time that person needs something, you’re always the most reliable one who will get the job done without complaint, no matter how hard it may be. Still, your actions slip under the radar. They don’t realize how much you try to make it work. They don’t know what you go through when you’re busting a mission trying to set things right. They don’t understand the happiness that comes from seeing them happy, and they don’t understand the pain you go through when you realize that they don’t see the things you’re doing for them. I just wish people could see the things that are being done for them. That the reason why their life rocks is because of that someone standing quietly in the shadows making everything happen for them. That they are the reason why certain people are still holding onto hope.
